Protests over Haverfordwest schools sixth form axe plan

Feelings have run high in Pembrokeshire over plans to move sixth form provision away from some schools.

Pembrokeshire council wants to close Tasker Milward and Sir Thomas Picton in Haverfordwest and replace them with a facility for 11 to 16-year-olds.

A-level students would then study at a new centre at Pembrokeshire College.

Reasons given include small class sizes for A-levels at schools, the cost of this provision and good results gained by colleges.
