Aberdare scrap bike businesswoman on challenges

Business leaders are calling for more support to encourage women to set up and grow their own companies.

The Federation of Small Businesses is officially launching a report in Cardiff highlighting the potential benefits to the economy of increasing the number of women entrepreneurs.

It recommends more UK and Welsh Government support, better access to finance, improving diversity when public contracts are being awarded and more female role models.

Helen Walbey, chairwoman of the FSB's UK-wide diversity panel, runs a motorcycle scrap yard and parts business in Aberdare.

She told BBC Wales business correspondent Brian Meechan how working in a male dominated industry had driven her to support other women starting out in business.
