Health Secretary Vaughan Gething shown paramedic's job

It is nine months since changes came in to improve the Welsh Ambulance Service - but how has its been getting on?

A new traffic light system for grading calls gives call centre staff more time to determine the nature of the emergency.

It is aimed at ensuring ambulances are prioritised for "immediately life threatening" calls, with emergency response time targets scrapped for all but the so-called "red" calls during a one-year trial.

Health Secretary Vaughan Gething is shown around a rapid response vehicle by paramedic Laura Deabreu.

She also says she feels they are now "making a difference" after the changes came in last October.
