Pont Melin-Fach waterfall rescue's 'outstanding flying'

A man has been airlifted to safety on a stretcher after falling from a Powys waterfall and suffering a head injury.

Western Beacons, Central Beacons and Brecon Mountain Recue teams were called to the Nedd Fechan river, below Pont Melin-Fach, near Ystradfellte, at 15:10 BST on Saturday.

The man was winched out by the search and rescue helicopter from St Athan and taken to hospital.

Western Beacons Mountain Rescue Team (MRT) said it had been a "dramatic" rescue which had required "outstanding flying".
