A-levels: Results in Colwyn Bay, Aberystwyth and Maesteg

The proportion of Welsh students gaining top A-level grades has fallen this year, although the overall pass rate has stayed stable.

Those achieving the top A* or A grades is 22.7%, down from 23.1% and is the lowest since the new top grade was introduced in 2010.

The overall pass rate remained at 97.3%.

A-level performance remains lower than England, which remained at 98.1% while top grades were down 0.1% on 2015.
