North Wales Police apology for sex abuse former chief

North Wales Police has apologised after a former chief was found guilty of historical child sex offences.

Gordon Anglesea, 79, from Old Colwyn, was convicted of four counts of indecent assault against two boys after a trial at Mold Crown Court.

Following the verdict, Assistant Chief Constable Richard Debicki apologised on behalf of the force to those whose lives were "so traumatically affected".

He said the victims have waited a long time for justice, adding: "We said that all abusers of children should keep looking over their shoulder and I am satisfied that today time has caught up with Gordon Anglesea."
