'Choose well' to get the right care, says NHS Wales boss
The Chief Executive of NHS Wales has urged people not to default to accident and emergency departments when they are unwell.
Dr Andrew Goodall wants people to "choose well", external and only go to hospital when necessary.
Other options include GPs, pharmacies and minor injury units.
"A&E is for people who are very sick or badly injured and unless this is the case you will get the right care quicker by choosing well," he said.
An extra £50m is being made available for NHS Wales to deal with winter pressures on hospitals.
The investment will look to prevent routine surgery being cancelled and to continue tackling waiting lists.
