Walkers encouraged to explore Snowdonia's Celtic rainforest

A new trail has opened through Snowdonia's 10,000-year-old Celtic rainforest.

The 221-acre (89 hectare) pristine Coed Felinrhyd woodland is home to flora and fauna scarcely seen elsewhere, as well as otters, bats, and rare birds.

Much of the woodland dates from the last Ice Age.

The Royal Geographical Society (RGS) said it hopes people will explore this "magical rainforest, left nearly untouched by human hands."
