Paul Robeson miner film The Proud Valley on show

A 1940s film about a black American miner and singer who moved to Cardiff to find work has been remastered and is going on tour.

Filmed in south Wales, The Proud Valley starred civil rights activist Paul Robeson, who is being celebrated as part of the British Film Institute's (BFI) Black Star season.

It tells the story of David Goliath, who was adopted by the community after joining a local male voice choir and getting work with Blaendy miners.

The tour begins on Sunday.
