Barry school head welcomes business manager role

School business managers are being appointed in 11 parts of Wales to help heads with finance and administration.

The pilot project, costing Welsh Government and councils £1.8m, is intended to help free up head teachers and staff to focus on leadership and teaching.

Katy Edwards, head of Palmerston Primary School in Barry, has had a business manager since Easter - and says it has helped ease the burden.
