Online Universal Credit bid 'awful'

A woman unable to apply for Universal Credit online said she was left having to ask for food parcels.

The process requires official ID like a passport or driving licence.

It has led to some support groups calling for changes to the system.

The UK government said there are measures in place to support those unable to apply for the new benefit online.

But Jenny Lewis, from Newport, described her experience as "awful".
