Machen mountain fires burn for fourth day

Grass fires have burned for a fourth day on a mountain in south Wales, threatening nearby homes and destroying trees.

Worried residents said it was "quite concerning" as about 45 to 50 hectares of grassland and forestry were damaged by fire on Machen mountain in Caerphilly county.

Craig Hope, of South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, said the fire was contained and would hopefully be out by Tuesday evening.
