Tusker Rock's shipwrecks graveyard captured in art project

A photographer is paying tribute to the lives lost to a small island in the Bristol Channel known as a graveyard for shipwrecks.

Tusker Rock has claimed dozens of lives over the centuries.

It lies some 2.5 miles (4km) off Porthcawl to the north, and just a mile and bit off Ogmore-by-Sea to the east on the Vale of Glamorgan coast.

The island is just 1,600ft (500m) long, but has always fascinated photographer and artist Peter Britton.

His project aims to create an artwork which stands as a "legacy for the lives lost" to the "treacherous" rock through videos and photographs.
