Hengoed: Firework almost blinds eight-year-old boy

An eight-year-old boy almost lost his sight after a firework exploded near his head, his father has said.

Bradley was walking across a field in Hengoed, Caerphilly county, with his friend when an object was allegedly thrown towards them.

Rhydian Guzvic, Bradley's dad, said: "He's had CT scans, they've found shrapnel in wounds across his head and some close to his eye, so it's quite scary for everybody involved."

Gwent Police is investigating the incident, which happened on Sunday.
