Newport takeaway left filled with smoke by firework-throwing vandals

This was the moment CCTV caught a firework being hurled into a Chinese takeaway, filling the building with smoke.

Zoie Fong, 50, who works at the Dragon Palace, said three children were seen loitering outside at about 20:30 BST on Saturday.

She said as one watched, another held the door open while the third threw the explosive into the business, on Newport's Chepstow Road.

Ms Fong said while they did not call the police, it was was not the first time the shop had been targeted.

"There was all smoke in the shop, it was very scary," Ms Fong said.

Gwent Police said they were aware of the video and urged witnesses to call them.
