Swansea: Fire rips through grass and gorse in Gower

These were the scenes as a huge fire swept through gorse and grass in the Gower.

The fire service said it was tackling the blaze after it was called to the scene, in Swansea county, at 16:27 GMT on Friday.

What sparked the inferno remains unclear.

Andrew Windsor, from Llanelli, who spotted the flames while driving, said: "I was on my way to the shop when I saw the fire, initially thinking it was the sun setting, before double-taking and realising the Gower was on fire."
