Ceredigion floods 'made worse' by floodplain building

Major floods that hit mid Wales over the summer were made worse by building on floodplains, according to Aberystwyth University scientists.

More than 150 people had to be rescued from flood-hit caravan parks in Ceredigion in June after heavy rain.

Report author Prof Mark Macklin said the increase in camping and caravanning areas was of "concern".

Gareth Davies, whose home in Llanbadarn Fawr, Aberystwyth, was flooded, spoke to Oliver Hides on BBC Radio Wales.
