Eager shoppers in Black Friday rush at Tesco in Cardiff

Police were called to a Cardiff supermarket after reports of clashes between customers eager to take advantage of Black Friday sales.

Shoppers began queuing outside Tesco Extra in Gabalfa at 18:00 GMT on Thursday ready to enter the store at midnight.

Soon after, staff called officers for help after becoming concerned about the number of people who had turned up.

A number of customers reported on Twitter that there had been fights, but police said any incidents had dispersed before they arrived at the Excelsior Road site.
