Ed Miliband: Barnett formula 'oriented towards need'

Labour leader Ed Miliband has given his support to continuing with the funding method use to allocate money to Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Speaking on The Andrew Marr Show, Mr Miliband said he and other party leaders thought the Barnett formula had "served us well" and was "oriented towards need".

First Minister Carwyn Jones has said the Barnett formula underfunds Wales by up to £300m per year.

And he told politicians in the Senedd last week that Mr Miliband had "made it clear" he would deal with Wales' funding issue if he wins office.
