BBC will be blamed for S4C cuts, Carwyn Jones claims
First Minister Carwyn Jones has accused the UK government of not caring about Welsh language broadcasting, and claims it will blame the BBC for cuts made by S4C.
The Welsh TV channel now receives most of its funding via the BBC, and has been told it will be expected to make "reasonable savings" as a result of the licence fee settlement announced in July.
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport insisted it remained "committed" to Welsh language broadcasting.
Mr Jones said even though broadcasting was not devolved, the Welsh government had a right to speak out in defence of Welsh and English language programming for Wales.
