Tata Steel: Beating heart of Port Talbot, says Kinnock

Steel job cuts are a bitter blow for Port Talbot, the town's Labour MP has said.

Tata is cutting 750 jobs at the plant, the biggest in Wales, as part of 1,050 jobs being shed across the UK.

The Indian-owned company said "tough actions are critical in the face of extremely difficult market conditions".

Aberavon MP Stephen Kinnock said the steel plant was the "beating heart" of Port Talbot, adding that people were angry the UK government had not taken action to prevent heavy job losses.
