Brexit: Farmers need to put 'more British food on our plates'

A farmers' leader has warned that Britain needs to become more self-sufficient in food when it leaves the European Union.

Meurig Raymond, president of the National Farmers' Union, is urging his members to share their views on the shape of agriculture policy after Brexit.

A consultation is asking for thoughts on subsidies, trade deals and access to labour.

Mr Raymond said British farmers would need to stay competitive.
