Rural Wales 'anger and alienation' risk of hard Brexit
A hard Brexit could damage Welsh culture because of its impact on the farming industry, economist Gerry Holtham has warned.
Giving evidence to a House of Lords Brexit committee hearing in Cardiff, he said Wales would be hit harder by the loss of free trade with the European Union than the rest of the UK.
The Cardiff Metropolitan University professor said this was due to Wales' dependence on industries such as aerospace, cars, and farming.
The latter was especially important to the survival of the Welsh language and Welsh culture, he added.
