Jones's aim to 'protect Welsh rights - not block Brexit'

First Minister Carwyn Jones has said he is encouraged to hear UK ministers accept the EU Withdrawal Bill needs to be changed but denies aiming to block Brexit.

His comments follow talks with Theresa May's deputy - First Secretary Damian Green - and Welsh Secretary Alun Cairns in Cardiff on Thursday.

On Monday, MPs will debate amendments to the bill aimed at preventing the UK government keeping hold of Brussels powers in policy areas which are otherwise devolved, such as farming.

Mr Jones said he wanted to work with UK ministers to ensure all the governments were "in the same place" in terms of post-Brexit powers.
