Newport Halloween disorder: Fireworks aimed at police caught on camera

Footage has emerged of fireworks being aimed at a police van during a disturbance in Newport on Halloween.

Police warned of a zero tolerance approach to troublemakers on Monday night with dispersal orders in place and extra patrols across the area.

Footage - filmed from a bedroom in Commercial Street, Pill - shows fireworks being aimed at a police van as it drives down the road.

The woman who took the footage said the disturbance lasted about four hours and she was worried about children out trick or treating.

Seven people were arrested following the anti-social behaviour crackdown on Monday night, all have since been released on bail.
