Cardigan Castle to reopen after £12m revamp

Cardigan Castle is preparing to open its doors for the first time since 1996 thanks to a £12m restoration project.

The 900-year-old site reopens in the spring as a heritage attraction and events' venue including accommodation.

Cadwgan Building Preservation has overseen the project thanks to grants, including £6m from the Heritage Lottery Fund and £200,000 raised in the local community.

It is hoped the castle will attract 33,000 visitors in the first year.

BBC Wales' Aled Scourfield gives a tour around the renovated areas.
