Pembrokeshire MP Crabb: 'Human decision' on Manning release

President Obama has taken a "human decision" on reducing the sentence of Chelsea Manning, Preseli Pembrokeshire MP Stephen Crabb has said.

The 29-year-old transgender US Army private will be freed on 17 May instead of her scheduled 2045 release.

She was sentenced to 35 years in 2013 for her role in leaking diplomatic cables to the anti-secrecy group.

Mr Crabb said the decision would be warmly welcomed in west Wales, where Ms Manning has family links.
