Paul Conroy describes 'slaughterhouse' in Homs

The British photojournalist wounded in the Syrian city of Homs, Paul Conroy, has given a first-hand account of conditions in the city to Newsnight's Gavin Esler.

He accused the Syrian regime of systematically slaughtering the civilian population.

Paul Conroy, 47, was injured last week in an attack in Homs which killed two journalists, including his colleague Marie Colvin.

He decribed being smuggled out of conflict-torn Homs by Syrian rebels.
