South African man jailed for Anni Dewani murder

One of two South African men accused of being hired by a British man to kill his bride has been jailed for 25 years.

Mziwamadoda Qwabe pleaded guilty to charges of kidnapping, robbery, murder and illegal possession of a firearm at a hearing in the Western Cape High Court.

Anni Dewani's body was found in an abandoned cab in a township in Cape Town in 2010.

Prosecutors claim that her husband, Shrien, paid two men to kill her. The 32 year old from Bristol denies the accusation and is fighting extradition to South Africa.
