Gastronomic Paradise rediscovered in Rio's favelas

Favela bars, once off-limits to outsiders, have become the newest hotspots for both locals and foreign visitors thanks to the so called "pacification'' programme aimed at making Rio safer ahead of next year's World Cup and the 2016 Olympics.

Now, there's another reason to visit: the growing buzz about the best food and drink the pacified favelas have to offer.
