What gay 'propaganda' vote tells us about Russia today

By a margin of 436 votes to nil, the Russian parliament voted on Tuesday to ban the distribution of information about homosexuality to children, preventing "the propaganda of non traditional sexual relations".

Here Steve Rosenburg reports for BBC Newsnight on the vote and what it says about Russia today, and afterwards Newsnight's Jeremy Paxman discusses the move with Valeriya Perfilova, a Russian singer who was awarded the title of "honoured Artiste of Russia" by President Vladimir Putin, and Anton Krasovsky a former Russian TV presenter who "outed" himself on air and was subsequently sacked for doing so.
