Putin says 'no rivalry' with EU over trade pact with Ukraine

Russian President Vladimir Putin has delivered his annual state of the union address.

He says he hopes for a political solution to the crisis in Ukraine and insisted Russia was not trying to force Ukraine into joining his regional customs union.

The address also included sharp criticism of Russia's economic slowdown and a defence of his promotion of conservative values.
