Novo-Ozyorne: Long-term resident Maria Nikiforovna

Novo-Ozyorne is a small, ethnically mixed town in western Crimea.

The town is dominated by the Ukrainian navy, which has its regional headquarters there, but Russian troops have now partially blockaded the naval facilities.

On Sunday, a disputed referendum is taking place in Crimea on whether the peninsula should become a part of Russia.
