Ebola epidemic: UN to ensure West Africa Ebola workers paid regularly
The head of the new UN Mission for Ebola Emergency Response (UNMEER), Tony Banabury, has said the UN will work with west African governments to ensure that health workers tackling the Ebola epidemic there are paid regularly.
On Monday some staff in Liberia performing dangerous tasks like burying infectious bodies threatened to strike over what they said was insufficient pay.
