The US Defence Secretary has said that the rising tensions in the South China Sea will not stop US military operations in the Pacific "at all".

Ashton Carter said the US was not looking to militarise the situation, but that "nothing" would stop its operations in the region.

He spoke in an exclusive interview to the BBC's Katty Kay in Vietnam.
