'Deeply concerning' modern day slavery

The first independent anti-slavery commissioner, Kevin Hyland, has told the BBC Today programme that clamping down on Nigerians being trafficked to the UK for prostitution or forced labour is a main priority.

The commissioner - who has been in the post for six months - says he is extremely concerned about the hundreds of Nigerian people who are brought to the country every year to be exploited.

He describes the problem as 'enormous' and 'deeply concerning'.
