Charleston church shooting suspect arrested

The suspected gunman in the killing of nine people at a historic African-American church in South Carolina has been arrested.

A lone gunman sat in a bible study meeting for up to an hour before firing in what police were quick to describe as a "hate crime".

Officials earlier named 21-year-old Dylann Roof as the man they were looking for after the shooting in Charleston.

Dylann Roof's uncle has said that he was given a hand gun for his 21st birthday.

Jon Sopel reports.
