Syrian refugee: 'We are made to feel welcome in UK'

This week, the first of a new wave of those fleeing the Syrian crisis are expected to arrive in the UK. They have been hand-picked as being among the most vulnerable now living in the refugee camps and border towns on the edge of the conflict zone.

Some 20,000 refugees are expected to be accepted over the next four years. So far just 216 Syrians have arrived here under this official scheme.

Abdul Aziz and Suha arrived in the UK at the end of March along with their one-year-old daughter Arerm. They were both studying at university in Syria but left their home in Homs because of the conflict.

They are now living in Bradford and are attending English and cultural classes organised by Horton Housing Association as part of the Vulnerable People Relocation Scheme.
