Abducted and trafficked by the militant group Islamic State

The five-year conflict in Syria has claimed the lives of an estimated quarter of a million people and driven many more from their homes.

It has also resulted in the persecution by so-called Islamic State of religious minorities including the Yazidi sect in Syria and Iraq.

Caroline Hawley met a young Yazidi woman who was abducted, raped, beaten and then trafficked by the militant group.
