Libya warns it can not stop migrants crossing to Europe

Libya has warned that it does not have the resources to control the flow of people heading to Europe. It has accused the EU of failing to deliver on promises of help.

The latest figures show more than 24,000 people have already made the crossing from Libya to Italy this year.

The UN says 352 people have died since January.

In Misrata the coastguard is struggling to cope with the numbers of migrants' boats setting sail.

Orla Guerin reports.
