ICJ genocide case: South Africa presented 'distorted factual picture' - Israeli lawyer
Israel has called on the International Court of Justice to reject a case brought by South Africa alleging that it is committing genocide in Gaza.
On the second and final day of hearings at the UN's highest court, Israeli foreign ministry adviser Tal Becker said that South Africa had presented a "profoundly distorted factual and legal picture" and "a sweeping counter-factual description" of the Israel-Palestinian conflict.
The court's rulings are theoretically legally binding on parties to the ICJ, which include Israel and South Africa, but are not enforceable.
