Congolese militia leader arrested

UN officials are celebrating the arrest of a Congolese militia commander suspected of leading an attack which involved the mass rape of more than 300 women.

The commander, Lieutenant-Colonel Mayele, is a member of the Mai-Mai Cheka militia that is suspected of leading the attack in Livungi, in North Kivu province of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
