UN: Ivory Coast on brink of civil war

The United Nations has warned that Ivory Coast is on the brink of a new civil war, as post-election violence spreads from Abidjan to other areas.

Forces loyal to the former President Laurent Gbagbo have clashed with supporters of Alassane Ouattara, who is internationally recognised as having won November's election.
