Libya stalemate: Would US arming rebels help?

The US President Barack Obama has said he is not ruling out arming the rebels seeking to overthrow the Libyan leader Colonel Gaddafi.

His comments come after the international conference on Libya in London on Tuesday.

But supporters of the leader have driven the rebels back over ground they took in recent days.

The BBC's Ben Brown said even if the US did arm the rebels they do not have the military discipline to use them effectively.
