Ivory Coast: 'Gbagbo's safety should be ensured'

Besieged Ivorian leader Laurent Gbagbo has been detained in the main city Abidjan and delivered to the headquarters of his elected successor Alassane Ouattara.

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon gave his reaction to the BBC's Barbara Plett, saying he would stress to Mr Ouattara that Mr Gbagbo's "physical safety should be ensured".
