Uganda opposition leader Kizza Besigye under 'house arrest'
Ugandan opposition leader Kizza Besigye has been prevented from leaving his house by police, as the new parliamentary session is set to open.
The police say they had information he had mobilised supporters and was about to commit a crime and was under "preventive arrest".
Kizza Besigye lost to President Yoweri Museveni in February in polls he says were rigged.
He told the BBC's Joshua Mmali he was stopped by police and told to either return home or they would take him to prison.
