'Breakthrough' in battle for Gaddafi hometown Sirte

Libya's interim government forces have made significant progress in their attack on Sirte, one of the last strongholds of Muammar Gaddafi's loyalists.

Sirte is Col Gaddafi's birthplace, but it is not known if he is in the city.

The BBC's Alastair Leithead is with fighters loyal to the National Transitional Council on the outskirts of Sirte and says they have made a "major breakthrough".
