Libya uprising: Roadside checks as fighters flee Sirte

The head of Libya's National Transitional Council Mustafa Abdel Jalil has appeared in the embattled city Sirte, according to reports.

Sirte is the home town of fugitive leader Col Muammar Gaddafi and fighters loyal to the new government have cornered his followers in a small area of the city.

It is thought some Gaddafi loyalists are now trying to flee Sirte disguised as civilians and roadside checks have been set up to try and prevent them escaping, as Wyre Davies reports.
