Laurent Gbagbo arrives in Netherlands

The former president of Ivory Coast Laurent Gbagbo is now thought to be in detention in the Netherlands, where he will be questioned by officials at the International Criminal Court.

A plane believed to be carrying Mr Gbagbo touched down in Rotterdam.

The court's chief prosecutor has been investigating allegations that Gbagbo supporters were behind killings and rapes committed after last year's disputed presidential election.

More than 3,000 people died in the conflict which followed the former president's refusal to accept defeat.

The BBC's Anna Holligan said Mr Gbagbo is not expected in court until next week.
