Family relief at Nelson Mandela's hospital discharge

Mandla Mandela, the grandson of Nelson Mandela, said the family were relieved and happy the 94-year-old had been discharged from hospital.

The former South African president, who was treated in hospital for a lung infection and gallstones, has returned to his home in Johannesburg.

His grandson said they were grateful for all the support they had received.

"We as a family would like to take an opportunity to thank all South Africans and the support we have enjoyed from the global community over the couple of weeks that my grandfather has been in hospital," he added.
